Dr. Meg Montee

Associate Research Professor, Georgetown University

Director, AELRC

Dr. Meg Montee is an Associate Research Professor in the Department of Linguistics at Georgetown University and also directs the Assessment and Evaluation Language Resource Center (AELRC).

Professor Montee’s primary research area is language assessment and testing, and she also researches US language policy. She is an experienced PI and has received grants from the US Department of Education, the National Security Agency, and ETS. Through her research, she is committed to supporting language instructors and developing practical assessment resources that improve language teaching and learning.

Dr. Nahal Khabbazbashi

Associate Professor in Language Assessment

Dr. Nahal Khabbazbashi is an Associate Professor in Language Assessment at Centre for Research in English Language Learning and Assessment (CRELLA), University of Bedfordshire. Her main research interests include the assessment of speaking, the impact of digital technologies and multimodal communication on language testing, and eq(ual)ity, diversity, and inclusion in assessment.

Nahal has publications in Language Testing, ELT Journal, and International Journal of TESOL Studies. Her monograph On Topic Validity in Speaking Tests (Cambridge University Press) was shortlisted for the ILTA/Sage Book Award 2024.
